To Boast in Hope
Hi Hi Hi from the Southern tip of Africa! Long time no talk so with that being said here is a quick read of what I learned through this mornings Church sermon. Thanks Pastor Sam and Sarah for the warm, sweet coffee. Let's get to it:
Boasting in hope is the action of surrendering our natural desires and realizing how faith and hope is interchangeable. Simply put --> To boast is to hold one's head up high & Hope is found in Jesus alone. Therefore, to boast in hope is to have your head vertically up towards the Heavens and Jesus Himself. This reminded me how we, as believers, shall be selfish in the Lord. Selfishness tends to have a bad connotation in a world manner, but being selfish in a spiritual manner shows our affection and crave for the Lord's presence. Therefore, give glory to Him for all things, the good-bad-ugly, and that He must come first in all things. He is running after us every day!!!
Today may we experience peace with God, rather than peace of God. This will result in endurance, strength, glory in trials & suffering, and righteousness. He will never disappoint!
"In God's strange and wonderful ways of ruling this world, life's most painful trials serve a special purpose for our good. God often draws His straightest lines from life's greatest difficulties to our deepest and sweetest joys." - desiring God.
He is gracious and I am grateful. Happy Day!
